Seminar on Tips for Optimizing Structural Masonry Planned

architects, engineers and members of the Builders Association of
Eastern Ohio and Western PA are invited to a seminar to learn about tips
for optimizing structural masonry.
Tom
Nagy, director of the Ohio/Western PA International Masonry Institute
(IMI) will be the guest speaker at the lunch-and-learn event, held
March 20, 2012 at the Avalon Country Club at Squaw Creek in Vienna,
Ohio. Nagy will present the
inter-relationship in masonry buildings between materials, architecture,
engineering and construction. He will also discuss the ways to use
existing materials more effectively, explanations of the effect of one
selection over another, new materials and current code and specification
provisions.
The
event runs from Noon to 1:30 p.m. It is sponsored by The Builders
Association of Eastern Ohio and Western PA, and the IMI. Those attending
who need AIA credits can capture one HSW/SD learning unit, which will
be reported directly to the AIA on the participant's behalf by the IMI.
